Lets talk turbo spacer with EWG
Anyone ever run this with much success. Im a little scared of introducing more possible failure points. Id imagine someone would run nice locking hardware like stage 8 on both sides and possible brace the turbo for double reassurance. On the other hand I think its a chunk of **** and is asking for leaks and cracks as it causes the turbo to have more leverage. I wanted to use this on a cheap shitty type build in the mist. Ive also considered making my own for more strength.

Yeah thats what puts me on the fence. They have them in different angles for clearance. Id just rather weld this POS as far as bracing than try and weld an EWG on a BEGI manifold I have.

If I was crazy enough to try this, I would buy a new exhaust housing.
Special Turbine Housing T25-EWG-44 : atpturbo.com
T25 inlet flange and standard Garrett 5 bolt so it'll fit most OTS Miata Garrett kits out there. Only available in .72 A/R and its 44mm VBand for a Tial EWG. It would stick out the top so no framerail issues, and the dump would be fairly easy to mate back into the downpipe, provided you don't have the FM cast elbow or something.
I'd be tempted to try this if I got a hold of a cheap 2860RS or a 2871 as the smallest thing it will fit is a potato. I'm not sure why you would want an EWG on a GT2560R or smaller?

All of the modeling I have seen shows otherwise.
Real life results shows not loss in spool, or hp at the same boost and really really amazingly stable boost control.
With a 17psi spring on that particular one we never saw anything further from 17psi than 16.8psi. I have done a few all with excellent results.

Whats the deal with putting one on the DP? I know a lot of guys do it on Grand Nationals as well as some DSM guys. What if I did something like this. I guess I would just leave my internal flap open or removed and this way I wouldnt have to run a screamer pipe.
EDIT: Nevermind I dont think that will work

I think its junk.
However,
a buddy of mine is running a setup like that on his BP and it has held up and worked great for like 5 years now. he completely gutted the iwg, hogged out the port as large as he could, and running a tial 38 vband ewg on there. it still has the divider in there, without one it wouldn't work at all. this is on a evo 16g
I still don't like that setup though.
why not just sell your manifold and have abe make you a proper one? you'd be surprised at how reasonable his prices are. he can do a "fm/begi style" tubular for only like 100 bux more than the basic log

Probably ask for something like this

Cast manifold? Cast HKS solution. Too bad the image from the Gurney Eagle MKIII is dead since it used the EWG-turbine-mount solution. Best I could find is this:

The most frugal way to go about it is to Just get your manifold customized to support a wg flange. Weld or bracket the wg flap shut. Port polish the exit area if you are worried about flow or boost creep... This has been done countless times over in the fwd Sr20 community... And those cars have more constraint issues than a miata for turbo. IMO go with a vband if you can. I can't ell you how many times I've removed my wastegate to swap springs.
There's nothing wrong with that adaptor, but there are too many bolts, nuts, etc and that just screams frustration IMO. Unless it's a bottom mount setup I wouldn't bother.
If you want external gate, do it right and you'll thank yourself later.
