need a cheap clutch
Since I'm on a tight budget I need a clutch that can hold over 200 hp thats cheap. I'd like to stay with an organic clutch. I'm also not sure if i should stay with the 1.6 flywheel or go with a 1.8. I can get either flywheel cheap at Advance Auto Parts ($38)

I attempted to purchase one of the advance auto flywheels. It was a special order item, alleged to come in a couple of days. I waited about 2 weeks before getting a refund.
BTW, it was like $40 + core charge.

EZ Racing Stage 2 $179 shipped

You want to hold over 200whp though, I don't think any stage 1 clutch is going to do that for you. Stage 1 is generally just a slight upgrade from stock. The gripforce stage 3 is only like $170 shipped. Thats a bargain price for what you get. Its all clutchnet components sold at wholesale price.

I have a 1.6 personally. I'll tell you what though. From my experience with the clutch so far I'll tell you that I will be buying the same thing again when I build my FE Dohc. Thats how confident I am in it.
Just beware that daily driving with it will take getting used to and ample pedal finesse. It does chatter when creeping forward slowly. So the best idea is to let whoever is in front of you get a solid car length ahead and then just let the pedal out quickly and shoot forward and clutch again quickly and let it rol the rest of the way. Kinda gay, but its cheap and it holds the power with ease.

ok so heres another question. should he get the 1.6 clutch and flywheel cause its lighter or the 1.8 cause its stronger? and would it be worth it to use a 1.6 lightened flywheel and clutch kit? I'm assuming this would save a decent ammount of weight vrs the stock 1.8 setup so his engine would rev up a lot faster?

I would get the 1.8. I'd rather rev inperceptively slower due to higher mass than potentially slip and loose power.
I think that goes doubly when looking at discount clutches that may not hold up as advertised.
