Default Ceramic coated intake manifold

Actually it is high temp ceramic paint. My turbo manifold and outlet casting came in last week from FM. They had LOADS of casting flash on the inside and Begi offered to clean it up for me. Man, they are great people. Anyway, since the car is on jacks in the garage for about two weeks, I decided to look around and see what I could do on the car. I fixed some minor electrical annoyances like finally hooking up my horn. And I am polishing and painting some parts in the engine bay. I started off checking my method with the front thermostat housing since that is the smallest piece of aluminum that I felt like doing this on.

That turned out great, so I spent the last three days, maybe about 6 hours total, sanding my intake manifold. I could have done a better job on it, but I didn't want to paint over something that I could have just left polished. Anyway, here are the pics of the final outcome. This is after it had a day to dry and I cured in in a 300 degree oven for 30 minutes. Seemed to do the trick but it stunk like crazy.

well this is just part 2. I still have to do the intake itself and the cam cover. Good thing is BEGi now has my turbo parts, but the bad thing is the parts will probably be back in my house before I am done with the aesthetic parts of this project. Guess I can always come back to it later, but I need my boost fix.

Installed pics. Yes, I polished the bolts too. As soon as I can get some projects done around the house, I am going to do the same to the cam cover.

It is much cleaner now. I took these pics before I washed the rest of the car. I didn't have the turbo put back together yet. Guess I should take some more now that it is all nice and shiny
