Of course it's nice having a nice cool shiny car. What kind of car enthusiast wouldn't want an nsx, 911 turbo, sting ray, etc... They are works of art.
There is something to be said though about having a beater. Some of the most fun I had back in the day was in my $400 snow beast. 1990 Chevy Lumina.
You don't care where you park it or if something breaks on it.... This build is awesome and I love concealers build too cause of it. You also don't have to worry about people dicking with or stealing your car.

I don't even know if the locks on my car work. I'm afraid to try because i might snap off a key in the door like i did on the trunk lock.
And then i'd have to go through my bag of old keys and find another one that works in the ignition. And that sucks. Because it seems like only 33% of the millions of 80s/90s Mazda keys work perfectly in the ignition.
