Default IAC Delete?

I did some searching here, and checked google for a while, but have yet to get a straight answer: can I delete the IAC on a 94 1.8?

The motor is in my Seven, so the space is quite valuable, and with the front-mounted turbo, the IAC pipe along with the unnecessary coolant lines around it are going to make the intake piping creative to say the least.

I have no intentions on a lot of cold starting, and screw emissions... sidepipes FTW, so I really have no use for the coolant lines heating the intake. as for the IAC, as far as I understand, as I have no accessories other than the alternator, I really shouldn't have any major issues if I block the entire assembly off.

Am I way off, or is there something I am overlooking? Does anyone make blockoff plates for this?

As long as you have a way for air to get around the throttle plate for off-throttle idle, (with an idle control adjustment screw) you should be able to delete the IAC Valve (and associated piping/coolant lines/etc.) and be okay. Cars ran just fine without electronic idle control valves for decades. Just make sure it's fast enough at idle to compensate for the extra current draw when your radiator fan kicks on.

No issues with blocking that off. FWIW allot of people don't run coolant through their TB and suffer no negative side effects.

You can remote-mount the IAC valve if you ever find you have problems without it.

I was hoping someone has tried it. the few examples I've seen were using aftermarket ecu's.

theoretically, it should work. I guess I will have to try it and I will report the result.
