I've been out of the miata scene for about 4 years, but I'm back .
After having had only NA's with Begi System IV and a couple of FM2's, I now have a '99 engine (albeit not in a miata but in a Westfield).
This is a euro engine, so there is a fuel return line!
What is my best option keeping in mind that I want to keep the stock clutch and that I am on a very thight budget right now.
This probably means that I'll need stay below 8psi or so, but that's ok.
I have a Pierburg, old style Begi AFPR and MSD with Bipes mod somewhere from my very first system IV. I guess the MSD is a no-go on a '99, but what are my options?
So, what turbo, manifold, engine management, etc.
Torque is more important than hp, so something fast spooling would be nice.

BEGI-S kit and megasquirt. Stock injectors will get you 7 psi. Some cheap larger injectors will get you to 8psi with headroom.

Yeah you could sell off your FPR, bipes, and MSD and put the funds towards the MS. I could have gone the FPR and ignition retard route but after researching both options I decided to do the MS instead. More cost and complexity sure (not much more cost really), but much more powerful and flexible too.

I feel like I am towing the party line here which is totally against my nature. But when I realized all the MS could do for the price my reaction was

Since I did not have the return fuel line like yours I was looking at more cost to go that route, plus I did not have the stuff already like you do. So not exactly an exact comparison here but still pertinent.

Talk to Chad he will hook you up with a MS. Or roll your own if you are so inclined.
