Default PCV system.

What should I do about it? I'm newly boosted, and I just blew my first rear main seal (yay!) which leads me to believe my crank case is being pressurized excessively.

I searched but can't really find any definitive thing that people are doing to solve this issue. I know some people are running a 323 valve, but that's all I can find on the subject.

Thoughts?

Run both vents off the valve cover into a vented catch can and cap the intake manifold port.

read and be happy. I did an ebay catch w/vent, took my pcv apart (pulled out all the guts) and attached both ports on the head to it. You can see I still ooze oil out of the filler though.

It's ugly but functional. PCV valve is hollowed out (no check valve). Catch can has a vent hole (not shown) in case of excess pressure from the 2 hoses coming off the valve cover. The intake manifold where the stock PCV used to be is plugged.

I've been running like this for a couple years with no issues.

Hell all I have done special to my pcv system is add a check valve in front of the pcv valve...that's it. I have zero blow-by.

Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean there's no blow-by. I had no issues at 9 psi with the stock system, but when boost was at 15psi the cam cover started leaking. It's there, it just hasn't found a way out yet. Once it does, you'll probably see a 2% power increase.

Don't hate, this is the first motor in 4 years that after pulling a charge pipe it's completely clean and dry.

Never had any wet charge pipes- thanks to my vent system.
