Turbine housing interchangability
After doing a tad research I figured I'd ask on here. I am trying to figure out which turbine housings I can use to replace my cracked t3/t4e turbine housing (.48 ar w/ stage I wheel measuring approx. 48.565mm and 58.42mm). Obviously I can call Garrett and get a replacement but I would rather buy a different turbo for the same price.
I think I can use any T3 turbine housing but haven't found data that supports my theory. Anybody have any insight on this? I need to figure this out because I have 2 weeks to find and buy a replacement housing. Thanks guys!

the housing much match the same staging for the wheel. so if you can find one that accepts a turbine wheel of 58mm, you shouldn't have any issue.
say you have a stage I wheel and put it in a stage III turbine housing, there will be a huge void of space around the inducer and it wont perform well.

They like to say stages rather than trim for the turbines or at least that is what I am getting from what literature there is on the web. Why they don't use trim is beyond me.

Got off the guy from garrett and he stated the housings, provided they are housing the same stage wheel, are indeed interchangeable.
The bad news is my turbo is a T3/T04B which is a step down so I don't think I am going to waste effort on finding a new housing :(

T3/T4E, the T04B is a much older less efficient wheel.
He confirmed that it is a T3/T04B, that it is a 60 trim compressor, and it is a stage I turbine. He also recommended that I try to get a T3/T04E with a 50 trim compressor, a stage III turbine, and a .48 A/R turbine housing.
