Default External wastegate on MSM manifold

My MSM boost creeps when i am catless. Im wondering can i weld on a external wastegate on the stock manifold and turbo, weld the internal wastegate closed and not have boost creep?

yes, but kind of pointless because you would need a new DP/ rework your current as well. and the MSM mani isn't really anything special or worth hacking up.... may as well just wait for something in the classifieds.

I would just dump it to atmosphere, and i wasn't planning on changing the turbo until a couple of years down the road so no point in a new manifold. Im just wonder would this solve my creep problem.

Ever thought of being conventional like most everyone else and just porting the turbine housing properly? Doing any work to the stock cast iron mani is just a waste of time.

It will be even worse having the dump pipe go to atmo!

You need to smooth out/taper toward the wastegate hole so air is encouraged to take that path. With it stock it has to take a 90 degree bend pretty much.

I've attached a pic of my MSM turbine housing to show you how pathetic it is when stock.

Cheers

Already ported it made the wastegate hole bigger, and made a path from the inside so it wouldn't be a 90 degree turn. did not solve it. Thats why i want to do external.

I'd just put your cat back in until you can afford a good turbo setup.

Serious? Please explain why dumping your WG to atmo will cause boost creep.

Stupid ******* 240 owners keep confusing me! oo durp durp dont do it wont hold hurp durp durp drift tax ******* idiots!

Reading on the interwebs that if done right it will hold. Heating the manifold up then Patched it back up with ye old metal caulking gun let it slowly cool down

WAY too many variables to say for sure. I doubt anyone has done that to an MSM manifold. Only you should try it and find out.
