Default Ford probe turbo

So I took a trip to my local auto yard and came upon a junked 2.0 GT probe with the turbo still attached i checked it out visually seems fine, tiny/ to no play in the shaft, no chips or beds on the fins or grinding on the housing just some corrosion and dirt. But the real question is would it work on a miata? From my short research its an IHI turbo and seems to be a t3 flange not 100% sure still looking around for more info but wanted some feed back to see if its possible. oh it also had the stock IC with it as well not important but could be useful because the yard would give them both up cheap.

It's not a T3 flange, it's an IHI-specific flange (that only works with that particular manifold, the Escort EXP manifold, or a modified BG GTX manifold). It would work, but it's kind of a crappy little turbo, similar to the VJ20. Full boost is around 2400 rpm, drops off at ~6500, max efficiency is 15 psi or so, and you'll struggle to make over 200whp with it.

But if you can get it cheap...

yea thats honestly what I expected I do however think it would be cheap but the work involved to get it working would make it a hassel i don't have the tools to create the mani and dp etc, etc

Pick it up anyway and sell it on Club Protege or FEOA.

Hell, I might even be interested if the price was right- I need to build a Frankenturbo for a 1.9L Escort project.
