Default Need ideas mounting IWG actuator

All,

I have a GT2860RS, FM manifold, and TDR i/c which requires the compressor outlet to point up.

I need ideas mounting the (internal) wastegate actuator, short of fabbing a custom bracket. (Or ideas how to do that easily).

The compressor outlet is in the way, and the canister needs to be mounted at an angle. There are 2 possible positions for the can:

1) far away and low ... a straight actuator rod will work, and I just need an extension from ATP turbo (local). I prefer this option but bracket will be more difficult to fab.

2) closer but high ... actuator rod needs to bend down towards flapper valve which means $80+ for an actuator with a bent arm ... actuator can needs to sit at a pretty sharp angle i.e. its rod axis is not parallel to turbo shaft

Photos of both positions below.

impossible without either custom bracket or welding on mounts to the compressor cover

Hmm the first ebat link above will position the actuator up high and will require an actuator with a bent arm.

The 2nd one might have worked but it will hold the actuator at the wrong angle.

i was looking for something more like this for cheaper:

ATP Wgt 027 Wastegate Bracket for GT25R GT2554R Turbo | eBay

that should be able to mount it just like this:

I dont see any problem with that angle whatsoever.

but you might need to fab something to mount the way i illustrated, i think this one mounts differently on teh front of the compressor, not the rear plates that hold the housing to the backing plate.

need to find this one:

maybe FM or Begi has old stock of them from really early kits?

Gt2860rs and similar had bent arms from Garrett. Just get the right arm.
