Default Recommendations on turbo

Currently at work and can't do in depth search.
But it's really bugging my so I'll make this post.

I have a ported MP62 w tdr intercooler making under 250whp.
Friend's friend has a turbo miata making 290whp and power comes in around 3k rpm.

I'm running 8.6:1 84mm pistons and forged rods, MS2 already.
Figure I use the tdr intercooler and just change one of the pipes to mate up with turbo.
Then I just need to get turbo, manifold, downpipe.

Which turbo would you guys recommend for the most HP with least amount of lag? Is 350-400 whp out of the question?

Looks like that monster is good for 500+ hp.
Will I have a issue with it if running less hp?
How's the drivability if I was to use it as a DD?

I was hoping to use the FM turbo manifold and some kind of Garrett turbo to make installation as simple as possible. How does this mount? T4?
Will I be able to keep my PS and AC?

Forgot to mention I'll be running pump gas 91 octane.

You're going to be limited by your injector size. Do you have a five speed still?

I guess I'll have to get bigger injectors.

Still have the 5-speed. I have a few laying around. I'll swap over to a 6 speed after I break them all. I just don't like not having accurate speedometer readings.

Are you serious about the s366 or am I wasting my time researching it?
Looks like it's relatively inexpensive compared to some other turbos.

Anyone have any experience with Modern Automotive Performance?
They have pretty decent turbo prices.

I think they are screwing with you.

You can hit 350whp with any of several Borg Warner EFR turbos (not S3xx series) and still have good spool. You can hit that number with cheaper options also but the spool will be slightly slower. A GT2871R could probably get you there at ~22 or so psi with a .86 turbine housing and a good manifold and exhaust.

Nothing wrong with a 5 speed. I know a lot of people that drift and time attack that prefer 5 speeds on 220hp+ and don't blow trans Left and right. If you've never driven a boosted miata go drive one. 220hp and 205tq is plenty you will notice a huge difference from the 90hp. It will take you a while to get use to that power if you are doing time attack or drifting. Drag racing well....just throw a ls-juan

Keep in mind that you are going to start running into reliability issues at that power level, and that might not be suitable for a DD. I'm not saying not to go for it, but keep in mind that stuff has a tendency to break over 250 whp.

I'm giving the guy the info.
If you don't know what power level parts actually start breaking, and what parts actually work and are proven, then stop posting like I originally asked you to. We were joking at the beginning of the thread. You're actually serious, and that's what makes it so bad.
You're welcome to PM me, and in fact we can meet and you can tell me in person how much you love me. You'd be the 100000th n00b to attempt to do that, so you might win a prize.

I can't pm you it won't let me =(
This kind of idiot is why I deactivated on clubdouchebag. I'm a noob here, I wish I could pm people about parts for sale or advice on specific topics, but there's a post limit. Directly because of stupid, useless, loud-mouthed, uncaring, illiterate swaggots like you. You turbo one car that doesn't blow up because you know what Google is, now suddenly you're an expert. But not just an expert, THE expert. Just die.

OP - I've driven a similar horsepower mp62 car back to back with a Borg Warner EFR-6258 @ ~280whp. There's a big difference up top, obviously. But the thing that caught me so off guard was the insane early torque and stupidly quick spool. Garrett's are nice, but for the same money I'd take the borg with all the cool extras and quicker spool.

Edit: Would you look at that, calling you useless actually bumped me to 15 posts. I take that one back temporarily.
Well, not really.

If you actually see I recommend fc trans and diff they hold well over 400hp danny George was running 500+hp on a rx7 diff I know a 5 speed won't hold it will hold up to about 250-300 if you baby it.
