Default ms1 or gen 2?

Hello everyone, im currently building a turbo 1.6 miata. And before you guys flame me for boosting a 1.6 instead of doing a 1.8, i like the 1.6 and always wanted to do a 1.6. that being said, i have access to a mspnp for pretty cheap, is it worth just going gen 2 over 1? Oviously i want to save money, but if gen 2 is drastically better, ill spend the extra money. i have a goal of about 230whp, (begi mani, 2560r, rx7 inj, torsen diff, etc..) all i need at this point is an ecu. So ms1pnp for the cheap(from a freind), or new ms2pnp (not really into the diy,im going the pnp route).Like i said again, please dont flame me, just let me know your opinions, thanks guys

MS1 is fine for simple applications like a track car. But if you want a streetable DD with comforts like AC, you need the newer technology.

Now, if you're a computer science major and want to write your own software . . . but I must warn you, MS1 is coded in assembly language.

Lots of the flaming arises over people arguing for some advantage or preference for a 1.6, as in the infamous m.net "free revving" hype. It's cool to use what you have, but more engine is more better. It's really important to keep perspective and realize that a good manifold costs a significant fraction of what a used BP does.

Newer equals better. Dont waste your time with the old stuff, although it might be fine for your little 1.6.
I would go with the ms2🤓

Lots of arguing on both sides, obviously the 1.8 is better, never will o ever say the 1.6 is better or superior to the 1.8 because its not. I'm turboing 1.6 because I want to, not because I can't or don't want a 1.8, I have access to a 1.8 for literally nothing lol

A free 1.8, yet you choose to build a 1.6, before any parts have even been purchased. You think with inferior brain function, so you might as well use an ms1.
