ok i didn't know if it was a stress from the weight of the hot parts causing the crack or just poor weld quality in an unstressed area.

i forget... what wall thickness is that ss ghettochrome?

It was pretty thick for stainless. 0.065 wall IIRC. I think it was weight and vibration of the unsupported dump pipe (which aint that heavy!) combined with heat. I went right through unwelded sections but cracked close through the weld as well. So it wasn't an obvious welding process failure.

That's actually good news- as bad as it is. I've seen numerous accusations that the welds are so terrible. In addition to a flex pipe, I've got mine braced from the block to the (sched 40) downpipe right near the external gate. So I hope that helps manage the load. 800 miles so far- only a few 12psi runs though.
