Default Should I be concerned about Bubbly Noises?

Installed my turbo water lines a few weeks ago.

Banjo connections with hardlines extending a good 6-8 inches away from the turbo.

I'm hearing bubbly noises from my thermostat housing after I turn off the ignition. I assume it's the turbo boiling the coolant, and it's bubbling up into the housing. Should I be concerned?

Sounds like air bubbles in your cooling system. You need to burp the cooling system. Park on a upward slope, crank the heater to max, open the radiator cap, let the car run till the thermostat opens and top off the cooling system. There might be more to it but that usually works for me.

Your coolant shouldn't boil in the turbo, it should all be under high enough pressure that it can't be boiled even at turbo temps.

Default Audi's have...

a little valve on the heater hoses that can be cracked open to burp the air out. Sometimes the German engineers have some good ideas. Except for door handles and cup holders. They can't seem to make them worth a ****.

Not sure how old it is. Just purchased this car last summer, then I was shipped over to Canada for the Ford Flex launch.

btw - Ford Flex is a great car/crossover! We tuned it to handle good, and that comes from a guy with a miata and wrx.

Anyways, the overflow bottle is slightly above full.

I'll try and burp the system, and see if it still boils.

Thanks cjernigan for the burping tip. I'll try it tonight.

jbresee - Got a link to the valve?
