Default Got an gt2876r on ebay... Now want to fit it on my HKS mani...

Got lucky today: A 1500km (1100miles old) garrett gt2876r aka gt2540r.
Bought it for 268euro (350dollar)
Owner garranteed the turbo is in working condition.

http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=130257612528

Now the next problem: Will this clear my hood with a HKS mani (1.8 NA)???
As i won today, i don't have it yet...
If anyone else have the same turbo i want to have one measurement:

From the center off the compressor wheel to the side, exactly where the 0 (zero) of the .70 a/r.

I measured my gt2560, it's about 7.5 cm....
Calculating from the pics found on internet I need about 2 cm max to clear my hood.

It's helpfull, looks like i need 1.5 cm... Maybe raise the hood slightly???

I have to point it down as much as possible.
Looks like it would work...
What are your experiance with this turbo??
Boost pressure at what rpm??
aiming for 10 psi (engine is stock 95, with 99 head) so i need to keep HP down.(maybe play with the cam gears)
Some forged rods and pistons are next... Also ordered the oil pump gears a while back.

Always wanted to upgrade the 2560... As (see the my name) i started with a greddy turbo, I always liked the high rpm boost kick...

on a 99 head motor you'll see 10 psi around 3800-4200RPM.

with good tuning that's probably 240-250rwhp give or take.

Here's my car at 9.5 psi (stock 2001 motor)
Look at the overlapping red and green lines (the vvt is disabled in those)

It's not a bad turbo, but it really is better suited for more boost or a slightly bigger motor.

So you retarded the timing 12 degrees on the exhaust side and found 250 hp on 10psi?? Nice!
I can see the potential.

Does that mean that the more boost you run the more retarded the exhaust timing should be?

My engine is ok with 12-14 psi off the 2560... (link ecu)

intake side. I was learning the behavior of the VVT. default (unplugged) is full retard of the intake cam. end result is more-or-less the best of each of those graphs.

T25

I don't see the 2876 fitting....cut a hole in the hood and use a stack like a real dragger.
