Default what is this turbo :/

I originally bought this turbo for $75, the kid told me it was a t25/28 off of an sr20. looks to me like it is a t25 flange which is good but it says garret and it says air research, can anyone identify what this turbo is? and will it be decent for making just around 200 hp if not more for my 1.6? Sorry its a noob question but I've been searching all day and cant really figure this out.

no shaft play or anything so i mean for $75 hopefullly i can use it, if not its no biggie.

Okay, so you think it's worth using? Or no

Do you have the wastegate flapper? Because that's kind of important. If you have it, then I'd use it.

looks like the saab 900 turbo, judging by the coolant threaded bit.

You can get that flange for the downpipe with no provisions for internal wastegate. Then you'd have to run an external wastegate of course.

Yup Saab 900 turbo. It should work great once you sort the waste gate issues. Tough little turbos. The one on mine sure took a beating.

Weld something over the wastegate passage and run an external wastegate

Any idea what year this turbo could be from? And is it a t3 or t25 flange? I can't seem to find any definite answers. I dot have the turbo in front of me but if I look at the little tag on it would that help determine the year/size turbo it is?

Should be a t3 flange. It would be from a 16v because it is water cooled, so it could be anywhere from '87-92 ('93 vert).

This is all IIRC. But I believe it's correct.

UPDATE thanks to the hints from you guys it turns out it is in fact a tb0382 turbo from a 89/90 Saab 900. T3 flange also like turbofan said. I'd just like some opinions.. Should I spend the $95 to get a new internal waste gate on the hot side, or do I say eff the iwg and get an ewg? Or say screw this turbo and get something else? I'm not looking for huge power I just want my car to be a little more fun

Never mind I answered my own question. I can't find out if that's a 2.5" or 3" V band

I have one those adapters on a Godspeed turbo and it is 2.5" vband. The vband makes it very easy to take the exhaust on and off I love it.
