Default Tired of my ghetto air filter :(

Can someone recommend a filter and elbow that will fit my TDO4 better than the one in the photo.
I went to the local Auto Stone and the nice man let me drag a few K&N filters out to the car but none fit.
Hard to tell from the photo but the ricer filter that is mounted to the pipe is bigger diameter. This is why you see two clamps (long story)
I get very reasonable intake air temps using my home made sheet metal deflector so I would like to keep it. Maybe someday if I don't blow up the motor make a nicer one (?)..
For now, I would just like to buy her an elbow that fits the turbo in and also the filter (Filter as large as possible area wise )

Thanks and happy holidays

ebay or siliconeintakes or one of the 100's of other sites will have just about every diameter filter you could possibly dream of

local parts stores usually just carry 1 or 2 sizes, or something silly like a "universal" one with a bunch of rubber spacers. they suck

+1 on siliconeintakes.

If you are really after the "perfect" filter, K&Ns website has every filter they make with dimensioned drawings.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys ! I really appreciate the advice.

Time passes by fast here and I was trying to order without doing much disassembly and measuring.
I figured there are enough victims with the Gredy set up.
I had actually forgotten about silicone intakes.com although I had bought from them before (BOV)

If it makes you feel any better my filter looks identical (Greddy setup).

I really wouldn't buy an air filter from silicone intakes they look like the filters that come with the ebay intakes/spectre. Figure out what AEM dryflow will fit from their catalog and order from whoever's cheaper, which will probably be amazon.

I had an K&N filter that fell apart before. Granted I had it mounted directly on the turbo, but it literally fell into 2 pieces after like 2 months.

After that I wasn't as big of a fan of name brand filters

I'm not too impressed with my Spectre brand filter or silicone intake filters.
For some reason the gauze looks less even ...

The filters are like the only thing I've got from AEM that I dont have a complaint about. Where else can you get a dry reusable filter in universal fitment?

Been using the car to get around (fast) LOL
but soon as I get home tonight I will pull the coupler off the front of the turbo to measure the diameter I need.

There are so many bigger things in the world to care about. Ignore the unwarrented issue or replace the filter with a K&N and move on with life.

I dunno like everything else. The movement speed of snails is more pressing than this...

You're looking for something like what FM uses on their MSM intake kits.

Size may very well be very similar.

You can kindof see a picture of it here. Don't know if pipe size is correct for you or whatever, but the shape looks right.
