Shaft stuck (T25 rebuild)
!!Thanks to SamNavy for the excellent rebuild instructions!!
I got the compressor nut off after heating it up with a torch andpersuasion with vise grips. The shaft is supposed to pop out, with some effort to get one of the shaft rings thru its opening. I have been tappping the heck out of it and the shaft moves in and out a fraction in relation to its position in the hole the (is there a double entendre in there somewhere?). I can't seem to get the shaft to pop out. It don'twant to tap it much harder, thus damaging it. Any suggestions, or should I just continue this?

once you pop the compressor wheel off it should push right out.
if it's old and siezed theres a few places it can get get hung up....the bearings and turbine seal.
use a mallet and make sure not to kill it, try penetrating fluid.
fwiw, ive dealt with three of these turbos (sr20)....none have ever been easy to work with.

Thanks. I'll give it some P-Blaster and see if that helps.
**UPDATE**
I have already ruined the first 2 threads on the shaft and it in not popping loose as it should. I am going to need to try and die the threads of cut off the first two threads wit a Dremel to get a new nut on, which at this point seems nearly impossible. Three hours on it now, and I've only managed to get the compressor wheel off. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I rebuilt a turbo for tom.dow on this site.
i buggered the turbine housing (long story) and had to buy a second t25 to swap the turbine over. I sent him back both, but maybe you can make arranges with him to send down the one I bought...
