Alejo_NIN's Version of Coolant Reroute
Well, after seeing hundredsupon hundreds of reroute, i came up with my own version.
sinc ei am very cheap, mine does not requiere the SPACER.
here you can notice what i did.
i opened up the hole where the temp sending sensor for the dash temperature gauge. this must be tapped to M12 1.5
then, a little higher, i drilled another hole for a NTP 27 Tap, where i relocated the temp sensor to.
since i don't have heater core, i didn't need the hoses, i got the kia neck whcih you sitll need. the thermostat fits perfectly still.
i cut down the bolt on the top right awhile removing the protruding metal elbow which feeds water to the oil cooler.
i then inserted a piece of copper pipe, in specific a cap and forced threated a pipe cap.
then i drilled a hole on the side for a barbed NTP 27 fitting to replace the one i just capped off.
Before:
After:
pipe that feeds the oil cooler
kia neck and why i shaved off those other pipes
how the sensors sit now
i had to shim the sensor a bit to have it sit flush with the head. the connector just slides in with no problem.
i used teflon tape and also used RTV just to make sure.
the sensors sit just before the thermostat so you'll get the best temp reading possible.
well, i hope someone can benefit from this.
you still need the escape or explorer hose(i don't remember)
