Default churbo rebuild kit

Begi sells a t25/t28 rebuild kit for $70. I found one on eBay for $40, that is listed at a t25/t28 rebuild kit. Are they all the same? I have a begi 2854.

I'd go with the begi since it'll be the same parts.

Too late.

The pics show identical parts. Its just bearings, seals, washer, c clips, orings, studs and a gasket. I don't think begi's chra is any different from the standard?

So it arrived today, looks ok I guess? First time rebuild. I was all set to order the begi but I remembered how long it took to get my shanghai and I wanted to start this asap. $40 and 3 days later it was on my porch.

Here is the reason I'm rebuilding it. It's been smoking since I installed the 3in exhaust, but lately it's gotten embarrassing. At first I thought it was the valve seals, so I installed some blue viton ones but that didn't do a damn thing for the smoke. It still spools up good, some had mentioned that with less backpressure in the exhaust, bad turbo seals turn into really bad turbo seals.

Well...I finally fixed it! It must have been the piston ring seal on the turbine side that was causing all the spy hunter like smoke screen I've been experiencing lately.

Rebuild went smoothly, except for trying to get those tiny c-clips in and out on the chra (holy hell what a pita), and the large c-clip holding the compressor housing on.

So since my car started smoking, I've tried 2 or 3 new pcv's, a catch can, a new drain line, new viton valve seals, and finally the winner was the rebuild kit.

Happy.

That rebuild kit came with everything!!! I ordered a garrett rebuild kit a few months ago, it came with seals, bearings, a few other things. No oil drain gasket, no studs, not like your awesome complete kit!!

How many miles did you have on your churbo before you rebuilt it? Curious.

I found it on ebay. Search "t25/t28 rebuild kit", it's on the second or third page. It was $32.99 plus $7 shipping. Super fast delivery too.

I"ll go out and record an 'after' video here in a minute. Seriously though, all smoke is gone.

Edit: I think about 10k miles? It may have been bad a while before, but after the 3" went on all hell broke loose.
