Default Turbo Manifold

Hey guys,
Do you know of anyone making a nice equal length tube turbo manifold for the 1.8 ? ...preferably made of heavy guage stainless
Most I have found are either cast logs, or very different length tubes.
One equal length manifold I found is a light guage chinese unit from SSAUTOCHROME, but I have heard of fitment issues with those.

Thanks for your help.

Expect most of the ebay chinese made manifolds to crack. SSauto has quite the reputation for crappy quality.

Saying this... Mark is running a chinese turbo and manifold... as are a few others... it just requires rewelding from time to time.

I'd stick to looking into thicker custom manifolds, or cast BEGI pieces.

I had mine made by Cody at Lovefab.com... its a piece of art and will most likely never need to be touched.

Why is it that no one is recommending the new FM manifold?

it's not the design he wants.

and i know FM will sell seperate components, but the fact that they do not advertise prices for said parts, make me always forget.

Wow, didn't know begi made a tubular. It looks like maybe they are the ones SSautocrome used as the basis to copy for alot of their crappy honda and other manifolds. Its even braced the same way.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of it would you?

ill say...my turbine inlet mounts inline with the #2 cylinder port..i only have less than 1/4" clearance to the P/S pump from the comp housing.....D/P was still pretty tight though.

The BEGI manifold pictured above is from the series 4 kit. It definately flows well. They have actually flowed so well that it has been overpowering the internal wastegates on the T28's. Low end torque is crazy. I'm not sure what the pricing is for the manifold, but shoot stephanie a PM and I'm sure she can get it for you. We did make one with an external wastegate port as well.

I talked with Cody at Lovefab and with Corky at Begi. Both are beautiful manifolds. And by-the-way, Splitime, thanks for the picture! He does do nice work.
I think, for the price, and the location of the mount, I'm going with Corky's design. My car has both p/s and a/c, so I think there is a valid point for clearance issues with Cody's design, though, I have to admit, that would allow for a nice SMOOTH downpipe design!
I thank each of you for your input, I hate trying to re-invent the wheel and your experience is a great help to me.

So I am curious what did Corky say the price is for just that manifold? I love the look of it but I am not sure if it is worth getting over his other manifold.

Not to be elusive, but you would have to check with Corky. The manifold is set up for a different flange and no wastegate, so I am having to have Corky put the correct flange and an external wastegate on the manifold; Therefore, the price quoted includes the additional time and effort to customize the manifold for my needs. Suffice it to say that the price was from $200-$350 less than I was quoted for a comparable manifold of the same design by, three other manufacturers.
Also keep in mind that I am assuming the risk of a cracked manifold that can be inherent to a tube design over cast. You must decide whether or not added flow is worth the possibility of having to repair a manifold periodically, or using a cast design that may not flow quite as much but is substantially stronger and/or trouble free over time.
