Default Helping a friend repair his 97

So a friend has the same year car as me but his airbag light came on and is staying solid.

My assumption is it is either the diagnostics module or the backup battery itself.

To repair this in the 97 from what i have seen i must remove his dash but to do this safely i must disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected while i remove and replace the module.

Now my issue is he is using a piggy back system that came with a turbo kit and it was tuned by someone in north Carolina to which he paid stupid money money for .

Now my question is will he loose his tune loaded into that emanage system while the battery is out for around 4-5ish hours.

What would happen if he left the radio or lights on and killed the battery.

Should be fine.
