Looks like all my v-band clamp connections leak, why?
Hi, I pulled my exhaust apart and I can see exhaust leaks at all the v-band clamps. The system is stainless and I'm concerned about warpage during welding. Do I need gaskets?

the flanges are pretty hefty and shouldn't warp. are you sure they're lined up in the clamp? some don't have pilot bores that line them up easily.

they dont need to be too tight. you should be able to get them tight enough with a 3/8 standard size ratchet without straining yourself. basically just enough to keep them from rotating.

that would be after tiny died from an rabbid escape hampster that would crawl into tiny's ear while he was sleeping one night and started to eat his brain. target (which would be flukes nickname given by tiny because of all the late night games of bun-darts) would start to collect ball-gags with his paychecks that he gets from working as a greater at the local wal-mart.
