Why do turbos use bigger injectors?

I'm curious if any of you have actually tried using additional injectors?
Not being turbo savvy, it seems to me that the bigger injector vs AI is more of a "because everyone else does it that way" sorta thing.

it's a lot easier to get away with with a SC. You are only going to make so much power, so just adding an additional injector to help against knock and to supply the additonal fuel, will suffice.
However, turbo systems are very flexible, the create more heat and need more fuel while in boost. If you are going are far are getting a controller for an additional injector, might as well get something that can just run 4 larger injectors and supply exactly what you want. Plus you are going to rely more on intercoolers and timing controls for knock supression. Except for the fact that everybody IS doing it, It's defenatly NOT a "everybodies doing it" sorta thing, it's actually the easier & more reliable way.
I know the AVO turbo kit uses an additional injector...because try pumping 15psi out of it and tuning one injector to supply enough fuel....i don't think it will be capable. Not to mention the fuel atomization will not be ideal.
