This is my EWG pipe. The way its routed it comes very close to the brake line, and wraps under the steering column before it meets the main exhaust pipe. When I put it together this was one of the first things I noticed. I'm going to track this car (eventually).

It looks like the pipe is touching the brake line, but its not. I'm worried about getting the brake fluid too hot. Opinions?

Not speaking from experience, but I'd say no. You'll want to at least wrap the brake line with something like DEI's cool-it tape.

I would relocate the line entirely. That kind of proximity to a pipe containing 1000+*F exhaust gas is asking for trouble.

Now open to ideas on where and how to relocate a brake line. Never had to do anything like this.

Go to the parts store. Buy an inverted flare tool, a bender, and a roller tubing cutter. Get creative.

Maybe a dumb question, but how often do you plan on being in the wastegate? I think if it were the downpipe I would be much more concerned. You may just be able to bend it a little bit and wrap the pipe and dei heat shield the brake line.

A lot I think. Anytime I'm full throttle or even less than full throttle, that wastegate is wide open.

I say just firesleeve the brake line or make a mini heat shield.

I asked about this here before and many track guys said proximity is no problem.

You can also bend and move that brake line by hand.

That line is pretty easy to move, I would just pull it towards the firewall. It will flex enough to get it off of the ewg pipe

Personally I would bend that line out of the way, then use a firesleeve or something. Maybe wrap the wastegate dump with header wrap too. Should be okay after that.

Or of course bend some fresh brakeline and re-route it completely.
