Default How much timing on my 99?

I have a 99 with a voo-doo fuel box. I am running between 7 and 8 psi intercooled, on 93 octane. I have a Flyin Miata timing wheel and it is set for the full retard of 6 degrees from stock (4 degrees advanced). How much timing could I advance and still be safe?

you might be bale to put 1-2° back in, but 6° is a typical number to retard to without a controller.

I am running stock timing on my 99, when under boost it will retard itself...says my scanguage. I would stick with 6 right now until you get it dyno'd then figure out what is your best option.

I ran stock timing with my voodoo box. Never heard any detonation but I'm also lower compression than stock due to the wiseco pistons. I would retard 3-4 just to be safe. Then listen like a hawk for detonation. Run some colder spark plugs while you're at it.

If I remeber correctly, the 99 can adjust plus / minus 6 degrees of timing. So if you have it on 6 degrees retard perminent, you have an adjustment between 0 to -12. Sounds good to me.
