Default 1/8th mile drag

I got a text from a friend wanting to go out to a notoriously crappy 1/8th mile track this afternoon. I left straight from work; 3/4 tank of gas, stock daily wheels with old 205/50/15 neogen tires, tools, spare tire, fire extinguisher, etc in the car.

I ended up a bit surprised with the times I ran. Apparently with all the little tweaks and tuning (and maybe a turn or 2 of the boost controller) I've done over the past year or so has really picked up some power. My previous best 1/8th was a 8.47@87 in route to a 12.7@114 1/4. Tonight I managed a best of 8.19@90.4, which really makes me want to go back to the 1/4 looking for that 11.9999999 pass.

Got a couple videos of me racing a friend's bolton 5.0 Mustang.

Best run of the day was against some young kid in a 350z with a big wing. Him and his girlfriend were laughing at us before we ran. He red lit horribly, and got out probably 3-4 car lengths on me before I ran him down and walked away running a 8.4@88 (had a passener) to his 9.5@76, lol. I'm really hoping one of my friends got it on video, but I haven't seen it yet.

Good runs.
The first time I took my miata when it was turbo'd to the strip, there was some Fat Fock there who laughed at my car. What sort of high performance pimpin ride was he sportin? That's right, a Cobalt SS supercharged with stickers advertizing his Stage 2 this, and Stage 79 that. I ran a 14.4 on 7psi with a SR20 turbo and a voo-doo box on my first pass. What did he run with his jerked off wrong wheel driven piece of cavalier crap with a new badge? That's right... a 14.90.
Moral of the story...
Leave your trash at home, cause I paid $6,000 cash and home built my 14 second work beater while you filled out a credit application and don't even hold the title to your wal mart parking lot cruisin excuse for a man's car.

Nice runs man! 90mph in the 1/8th is no joke. Head out to a 1/4 soon with some fresh rubber and I bet you'll easily break into the 11's

You know how I felt with the 350z douche, I just wish I could have heard his girlfriend's reaction.

I was running pretty consistent 2.1's. My best pass of the night was on a 2.05 and my worst pass of the night was on a 1.93. 60' times always blow my mind.

Congrats! When I grow up I want to be like you
2 seconds to 60 is fantastic.
I have a low power set up on my 99ae, guessing 220 whp at 7psi with TD04-13t and I am slipping the stock clutch on fast launches. To handle high boost what clutch do you use/recommend?

5.0 or 4.6? I thought it was a 2010? Nice passes in either case.

I've got an AEM Xtreme pressure plate and performance disk. It's a bit aggressive, but it definitely grabs.

It's a 5.0, I believe 2011. I think you might have me confused with flouder that posted a thread about racing his friend's mustang.

Went to the 1/4 today, couldn't pull off the 11 second pass but still pretty happy.

Nice.
what gear did you cross the finish in? You're running the stock 6 speed with 3.90 gears, right?

I ran into those vids today in youtube, I thought the car looked familiar. The first time I took out my **** following the engine swap I ran into a douchebag in a 3fity. It wasn't even close despite my fuel pump being completely fucked at the time and my tune... well what tune. This guys was also with a chick, it was priceless

How much power are you pushing? what's your set up?

You are so close. Tires will put you there easy.

How is your shifting? You maybe suprised how much you gain with the right oil in the tranny, and smooth quick shifts.

Shifting as quick as I can, but I'm not really sure how quick that is compared to a decent driver.

There was a guy with a built K24 Civic on slicks running 11.6@114 that I was talking to all day. I wanted so bad to ask if I could borrow his tires for a pass, but I didn't have any cash on me and didn't feel right asking a complete stranger to borrow his tires without something to offer in exchange.

Thought about sending you a PM as well, but I wasn't sure I was going until the night before.

Yep, everything from the tranny back is stock. I made about 6 runs I think, played with a small burnout, big burnout, and no burnout to see what worked the best. The run in the video was with no burnout.
