Default 2000 SE with Ecotec 2.4 LE5 swap.

Finally got dyno tune and a quickie track evening done with Swag. I had a LOT of polishing and buttoning up to make this car run properly.
At the track, the DA was 2876ft.

Interesting swap. Engine bay pics? What made you choose to do this?

I needed valve stem seals in my BP and decided I wanted to try something different. It is very torquey and fun, but it does NOT by any stretch of the imagination make 200 whp like advertised.

Hah I just put 2 and 2 together, didn't realize you were a member here. It seemed to be running pretty strong at MATG this year. Are you and/or Ben coming back down to NC for MiB in September?

Funny thing, the oil pan was shoved into the steering rack for all of matg, causing a ton of false knock and pulling ~10* timing. Couple that with the fact that I gained 20whp with just the tune. It is running much stronger now than it was at the dragon.

I am hoping to be there, but i won't place any money on making it. Work is super fickle about time off.

You shoved a really shitty Ford motor in and were surprised when it didn't make 200hp?

Chevy, but who's counting. The makers of the kit claim an "easy 200 whp".

Also, all of the above was blowing through a 2" pipe. So, that may have something to do with it.

You realize all the ecotec swap sites are quoting "200 HP", not 200 WHP, right?

Don't get me wrong, it craps all over an NA BP. A little quicker than a stock s2k and just as fast when you take into account the DA at the track.

That being said, I wish I had waited or developed the engine a little before I stuffed it in. But who is ever happy with power? We always want more.

I dunno. It took me 30 seconds of googling to find out that they had a tune (e85?) and a few other bits on those cars. Plenty of references stating 200 HP for a stock LE5.

Only one ecotec car running e85 and it is the customer car with DI they had at MATG. Shop cars are all gas. The highest hp/tq dyno they posted up there was with head porting, header, tune and balance shaft delete. I asked.

Staying na for now. I like the simplicity. 3" exhaust soon. Will see what that does for this thumper of an engine. 2" is way too small.

The v band for the header is right up next to the clutch slave and line. I'd have fried it and gotten stuck out of town. It will be corrected soon enough.

Also, thanks for posting. I didn't realize this was your car now. Haven't seen Ben around for a while.
