I wonder what makes Tim's so efficient up top?

So efficient in what respect?

HP? Mine had a steeper increase in HP to redline than his.

Torque? Tim and I made the same exact losses percentage-wise from our MAX to redline 11%. And I had much more time to drop than he did. I peak at 4100rpm, he peaks at 5400rpm. So I do a much better job of holding torque longer once I make it.

Artie is way down from his peaks. I guess my BEGi intake and Tim's custom intake manifold really remove a lot of the restriction you see with the stock/gutted variations that Artie runs. So maybe that is your answer, Tim's custom intake manifold.

Tim max: 234 redline: 208 dropped: 26ftlbs or 11%
Paul max: 260 redline: 231 dropped: 29ftlbs or 11%
Artie G max: 262 redline: 197 dropped: 65ftlbs or ~25%
Artie S max: 262 redline: 182 dropped 80ftlbs or 30%

If I am way off on what you mean by "so efficient up top" please school me.

Mine is among the least efficient there. IMHO.

when I look at just Paul and Tim's torque curves from 4.5K to redline they are the same, albeit like 20 hp/tq less throughout. I forgot Tim has that funky IM, probably helps.

I doubt it helps; I am pretty sure it hurts. That manifold did some very funky things to my VE table.
