Default Second time at the 1/8th mile

My time was slower this time, but I was running about 14psi versus 11.5psi last time (9.0 at 84.66). All it did was make it spin second even worse, as in hopeless spinning before 4000rpm; my best time was short shifting 1st and 2nd and driving most of the track in 3rd.

ended up with a 9.20 @ 87.99

I'm happy with the mph, the ET is pretty bad, but that's to be expected. It hits the 7200rpm rev limiter at about 30 feet from the end of the track, pretty irritating. I guess I could raise the limit to 7500 and get a little closer to that magic 90mph, but it's not really worth it.

I did the crystal mod to my ecu and it only took like 15 minutes, five bucks, and it's nice to not have a rev limiter in my way. I ran a 9.38 @ 72 mph and that was a 2.47 60'. I figure I could have got in the 8's pretty easy with a better launch. Sounds like you should be in the mid to low 8's when you get your launch and traction taken care of.

Read his sig "MSnSE spark and fuel and idle and boost control".

All it takes is 30 seconds to change his limiter... he just doesn't care to.

I personally run my rev limiter at 7500 rpm. Seems to like it up there

Yeah, it definitely has the power to go a lot faster ET-wise, but I'm not gonna buy drag slicks for it so I'll just have to be a ricey MPH racer.

That is still pretty stout dude. The important part is do you enjoy it? Does it do pretty well on the street? Was the track prepped up right? I bet with a nice prepped track you could pull a better ET.

Yeah the track is awful. It hooks better on the street.

hey posted the time earlier. I had similiar issues at a local track with the same PSI myself. You just need to find a nicer track dude.

what's funny is I also tried my 225 hoosier autocross slicks, and they didn't work as well as my 195 azenis!

Do you get into 4th gear in the 2nd video? Sounds like you shift 3 times. Or am i mistaking one of the BOVs for something else?
Looks awesome, makes me want to hit up the track sometime.

Being cold and having super stiff sideways doesn't help with straight ahead traction.

no that's just pedaling 2nd gear and then finally shifting to 3rd. you should take it out to the track. it's funny to get destroyed by mustangs but end up with a trap speed 10mph faster.

some of the other cars there were interesting... a 2jz swapped lexus SC300 was running 8.4 at about 85mph, a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with a few mods and a 75 shot was running 7.5s at 90! there was also a mazdaspeed miata with FM intake, exhaust, IC, and a hydra running 9.0 at 76.

That track surface looks nasty!

Looking at the vids, im sure you would pull decent times if you ran on a better surface. You were on Azenis I take it?

Our track is really bad also, but there is nothing else within about 150 miles. I ran 9.6s all night at 77mph about a million times last summer. All on very old 14inch pilots. I switched to 15inch azenis but about the same. I am going to get a couple 14inch street drag radials for this summer only because we go every other weekend and run all night. Its $5 and you can run again and again. Lot more fun than I thought it would be although it will never ever beat a track.

I need to count the slips that I haven't lost. And all on 8-9psi with stock clutch and rear, and miserable 60foots. Best was a 2.3. Best on the civic was 2.5 with 10.3 at 70mph, with all my mphs within .2 mph. Consistantly bad, like most things I try. Good thing other people were often worse.
