Default Virtual Dyno '90 NA with '99 BP4W

I recently refreshed my engine so I wanted to see what this rig was doing on the virtual dyno.

Car: 1990 NA; No PS, No AC, Hard dog single diagonal. Weight was a guess at 2150#
Engine: '99 BP4W, Ebay NPR vvt pistons... With head shave I think 10.625:1 comp. Running on 93 Pump.
Head: BP4W shaved .025", NA8 valve springs and BP5A intake cam, intake/exhaust ports cleaned up of casting defects
Intake: VICS with casting defects smoothed to 220 grit finish, 2.5" aluminum tube from there to a K&N behind driver side headlight
Exhaust: riceland header, OBX resonated cat delete, 2.375" enthuza resonated midpipe which is then necked to a 2.25" with a vibrant resonator
Drivetrain: 10# FW, Factory clutch, nb1 6 speed, 4.3 Torsen
ECU: Rev built MS2; MSQ attached.
Conditions: Exact same road, all 3 runs within 45 min of each other. 29.98 in/Hg @ 65F, All pulls done in 4TH gear.

Car previously went 9.15 @ 74.5 mph (1/8th mile, 1.89 60' on 22x8 slicks) on the factory pistons (burning a qt of oil every 225-250 miles)

Red Line: VICS set at 5200
Green Line: VICS set at 5000
Blue Line: VICS set at 5400

I fixed the lean dip in the red graph and stayed with VICS activation at 5200 as I believe the factory set up is. What should I look toward next to maximize this setup? I've been doing a lot of reading on here and i'm thinking of moving up to a 2.5" exhaust and see where that takes the car. I've attached my **** show of a tune (It's basically a stock 1.6 tune because I don't know wtf i'm doing) if any of you cats have suggestions there.

**Ninja edit, in the interest of providing the most accurate data possible I revised the tire height in VD to a 205/50-15 23.1"

You'll really want to visit a dyno. Looks like some decent gains are available through VICS tuning alone. I usually see it in VVT heads, but it looks like you could benefit from multiple VICS crossovers, but it's difficult to tell with just VD.

Do a run with VICS at 1000rpm, then a run with VICS at 9000. Your settings are correct when the next run follows the highest line out of the first 2.

Interesting, the green line suggests there may be some benefit to switching at 4800 perhaps.

Maybe back at 5000 then again at 5200. Would you implement this by simply adding another 2 on off outputs for VICS?

No, you'd add an "and" condition to the VICS on/off channel. So on <5000 and >5200 if that's what the dyno shows. I'd really suggest doing this on the dyno.

Thanks for the heads up Curly, it'd definitely be a good idea to put this on an actual dyno to dial everything in. I totally forgot to do what you suggested and do a run with it always on, and then always off to see where they cross. I've read that a hundred times on here, doh!

Great numbers and sounds like a really fun setup. I've always wanted to build a similar car (light, n/a, with silly short gearing) for zipping around in. Any E85 in your area? I bet with the higher compression you'd find some reasonable power.
