Talking Trip #1 to dyno

So, finally after close to a year of a budget project completely comming together, I made my 1st pull on the dyno. With my 99' 1.8L w/ Wiesco 10:1's (I know, kinda high for a turbo, but so very streetable) SS 1mm oversized valves, titanium retainers, ACT HD clutch, Ebay FMIC, DSM 14b @ 8psi, custom log manifold, 2.5" custom DP, EMB, Ebay piping, HKS SSQ BOV, and a base tune before we started pulling timing, she put down 233hp just maxing out the stock injectors. We stopped because the WBo2 on the dyno crapped out on us, but, I needed to change out the injectors anyway, so, we decided to call it a day. I'm putting in my 360cc's today and i'm still waiting on my dyno guy to call me back about getting the WBo2 squared away, but, I personally thought that was pretty impressive. More to come as soon as I make my second trip to the dyno....

Nice, that's pretty impressive for that turbo at only 8psi. Do you have any porting done to the head?

That is very impressive. Do you have any photos of your setup? Also, did you document your build? I like to see the build coming together.

thats very good for only 8psi. The 14b will flow really well at low boost.

Ditto. Very nice.

In part, the higher compression accounts for the big power at modest boost levels.

Nice and strong out of boost too. Bet it feels great on the street.

The only head work done was the OS valves, new springs, and tit. retainers. No porting at all!

It's not the prettiest sight under a hood right now, but, as soon as she's tuned like I need her, I'll clean it up and post some pics. I originally built the motor for n2o, because, I had never ran it before. I had a 2004 SRT-4 before I bought mt miata, and, well, money and FWD drove me away from that. I really loved the turbo though, so, I sprayed the yada a couple times, and realized she needed a turbo to really make her go. So, that's my life story in a "snail shell". haha, lame.

yes, stock rods. I ran it on a dynomite dyno. I don't have a graph, because, we were so busy troubleshooting the pos wideband o2 sensor that caused us not to be able to tune that day. I promise though, as soon as that gets squared away, I WILL post the numbers and the graph

update on the yada:

The ford brown tops didn't fit , but I got some supra 305's on the way. They should be here today, we'll see how that goes, ebay hasn't been treating me very well lately. I'm figuring that they should put me in the 250 hp range after she's all squared away with 9-10 psi. My dyno guy told me that the new WBo2 box should be in this week sometime, so, maybe i'll get it up there this weekend. More to come!

I heard the dynomite dyno's read a little bit low. I dyno'd my 240sx on one and it made 190hp and 200tq with the same set up most people make 210hp and 230tqith.

Take that for whatever it's worth.

I was very impressed with the numbers I was shown, so, for it to be more than what the dynomite was shown, i'm rather speechless.
