Soviet era car, space age turbo, rocket fuel
Yesterday I went to the dyno and made 458whp and 391ft/lbs on the last run.
- E85 (rocket fuel)
- 1.8 block, 84mm wiseco pistons, eagle rods (1884cc displacement)
- stock 99 head from a pick and pull junkyard
- wittyworks hotside parts (manifold, downpipe, exhaust)
- Borg Warner EFR6758 turbo
- Flat-top EUDM intake manifold, stock 99 throttle body
- M-tuned fuel rail in single-feed configuration, stock fuel hard lines, -6AN lines after that
- Fuelab mini FPR, ID1000 injectors, 60psi base fuel pressure
- Walbro 416 E85 pump (part #F90000267)
- Precision 600 intercooler
- Silverado truck coils (aka LS2 coils), 0.035" gap, NGK 4091 resistorless plugs, MSD 32829 wires
- 6 speed transmission from a 2005 Mazdaspeed
- ACT 6 puck xtreme clutch
- Timing map made by Faeflora. Timing map of RAPE
The dyno operator started all the pulls at 3-3.5k rpm which is too late and doesn't reflect my EFR's spool accurately. For example, during the last run it spooled to 29psi at 4300rpm - vs 3700 if the pull was started at 2k

Some notes
- Fuel pressure was higher than it was supposed to, for some reason it was hovering around 63psi effective pressure
- Wastegate boost was only 15-16psi so I could have probably reached 30psi or higher if I tightened the wastegate arm. All the "allofit" pulls were hitting 0% wastegate duty.
- 90% injector duty cycle, meaning there was still fuel left!
- Turbo speed sensor was disconnected, sadly :(

I can get a 3900-4000rpm full spool (29psi) out of a 3076 on a 1.9L if I start at ~2700rpm.
I also got 428hp at 29psi at -5* on an already conservative ignition map (was out of water on the WI system and didn't notice on the dyno).
So somehow I was expecting more out of this setup, given the 3076 is an old turbo by todays standards.

I can get a 3900-4000rpm full spool (29psi) out of a 3076 on a 1.9L if I start at ~2700rpm.
I also got 428hp at 29psi at -5* on an already conservative ignition map (was out of water on the WI system and didn't notice on the dyno).
So somehow I was expecting more out of this setup, given the 3076 is an old turbo by todays standards.

VVT head with no work apart from SS valves, "93" octane fuel ("100 RON"), max RPM is 7300, JE 84mm/8.6:1, 99 intake w/VICS, GM coils, RX-7 FD gearbox, MS2. Target AFRs are 11.3-11.5, timing is 8-15* retarded compared to your map posted above.

Our builds are about identi-chokes- Not really, I don't have awesomeness :(
But, I noticed, why does the gear ratio keep changing in all 4 runs? I thought it's suppose to stay the same.
Also smoothing: 5, seems like a lot. I'm no expert on this stuff though, just trying to understand it.
Sorry if it seems I'm critiquing.

The rear shocks compress A LOT under full power - see vidya
Regarding smoothing - I always use 5. For some dynos its unneeded, for other it is. Another factor is ramp settings they use on the rollers - the dyno I went to before did long pulls (~10 seconds) vs the last time it was a 5 second run. It can be clearly illustrated if you use the 'time' scale in WinPEP -
Finally, in the same image above I turned off any correction factors. BAM all of a sudden I'm making 474whp
It was a very nice day and ambient conditions were better than SAE specs.
