Default TD04L-13T@21psi peak, someone please verify if im using virtualdyno correct

Im using virtualdyno since i use Megasquirt, and every result i make with the same mods seems to be fairly the same.. But the figures seems high and hard to believe now the current mods and with this turbo

My engine is a 94 block with forged Wiseco and forged rods and all ARP bolts. stock 99/00 head and a custom intake manifold by my own design and a 2.75" downpipe and for the rest 3" straight trough exhaust and 3' catalytic converter

yes it was running pig rich so could pick some more power at that range

All in all the car is fast. a 50-75mph in 3rd gear only takes 2.1 sec and a 60-100mph in 4th gear only 4,3 sec

Here is the unsmoothed run, not huge spikes but some. Is this okay enough for a smooth run?

I have uploaded the datalog and added to the first post

Its a 2000 NB 1.8 with 5speed and 4.1 diff. Apart from the motor the car is completely original so the weight should be around the same as stock

Ive never seen over 250whp out of that turbo, and thats ona ej25 which flows way more than a bp. 300 torque, sure, but not whp. So seems high. Should trap 115+ if its really making 300

Solid curve either way, is it on e85?

Agreed, I don't think it can push enough air, regardless of the pressure ratio.

I hit 231whp on a Mustang dyno with one. It ran right about 17-18psi, anything after that seems to be blowing hot air.

You are doing these pulls in level ground and not moving downhill correct?

Im from the Netherlands. We dont have hills,

It was a level road, i used this road different times with other mods because it is around the corner. Also used some other level roads and comparing those 2 gives similar results

IIRC the "Dynojet" setting adds a flat 9% of correction. The "VirtualDyno" setting adds no correction.

That would still be 275whp

Is there anyone 300whp with the same kinda datalog in 4th gear so i can compare those to? Or would that not be a good comparison? We can check different acceleration times from x mph to x mph

The only other reason it would overshoot by a lot is if you were actually in 3rd but thought you were in 4th. I have done that before.

I have done that before yes. But this datalog was a 4th gear run started around 30mph at 2000rpm and end 10 sec later at 110mph at 6700rpm

Its possible to compare but you'd still need to basically compare vd plots since youd need front surface area, drag, weight, tires........a ton of stuff to properly compare

And road, temperature, etc conditions would also need to be same

Admittedly I haven't used VD before but check your units. Your weight is in KG and tire diameter is in inches. Mixing units will always give the wrong answer

FWIW, and I appreciate its an unscientific way of doing things, in my NB (195/50/15 tyre, 5 speed, 4.1 rear end, 4th gear, 250Flywheel BHP dyno'd 1120kg with driver)

1900RPM to 7200rpm takes 8.32seconds

Thats fast for only like 220whp. Was that measured on the dyno or real world?

thats 30 mph to almost 120mph in 8.3 sec in only using 4th gear.. kinda hard to believe with only 220whp

Facepalm moment, just checked that log now that I'm home and it was actually a 3rd gear pull. Virtualdyno gives 223WHP, 200WTQ for my setup

300whp does sound a bit high for a TD04-13T though, thats in the region of 70-80whp on top of what I make with an extra 2psi

A 3rd gear pull from 2200rpm-7200rpm took me 7.03 sec. 20 psi max

So yeah highly unlikely that it got 300whp i think
