Hallo,

I think I need some help because I don't have the faintest idea why my engine doesn't start.

First of all, my setup:
1.8l miata '94 + EMU + Zeitronix ZT2

I installed the EMU with a PnP harness. Then I updated the software to 2.16 and loaded the engine code into the EMU. But then, the engine does not start and just cranked.
If I disconnect the harness, everything works.

Does anyone have an idea?

Best regards, Stefan

do some search on the crank and cam sensors and the corresponding wires. you should be running off rpm signal look at other peoples files and compare.

What PnP harness are you using? What engine code did you select?

Not to be redundant, but make sure you select BP-ZE(NA)- NOT BP-ZE(NB)

Also, make sure the appropriate jumper is set to hotwire since that is what the 1.8L uses.

Did you change your injectors? If so, make sure you put the lag time correction values in there.

More information is needed.

In the logs, are you seeing valid-looking data for RPM, spark advance, and fuel PW during cranking?

Have you checked to see whether or not you are actually getting any fuel or spark activity at the engine?

When you disconnected the CMP/CKP wires, did you check to see that the Tach wire was in fact connected? On a '94, the source is the black/white wire at 2I, and the EMU input is at connector B, position 23.

Thank's for the fast replies.
My engine is a BP-ZE(NA) and my jumper settings are:
1: open
2: open
3: open
4: open
5: open
6: open
7: 1-2
8: 2-3
9: 1-2
10: open
11: open
12: open
13: 1-2
14: open
15: 1-2
16: open
17: 1-2
18: open
19: 1-2
20: 1-2
Are there any mistakes?

I don't know what PnP Harness I have. It is just a PnP Harness for EMU and Zeitronix ZT2.

And I use the stock injectors.

Hi Kenny,

try jp13 at open, but apart from that everything seems fine.

I can't see why your car doesn't start.

The logs seem to be allright and the disonnected wires didn't change anything :-(
Any ideas?
