Default HELP! Emanage settings for a 94 NA8

ive just hooked up an emanage blue for a '94 NA8 and it wont run.

The afm volts are wrong: 1.08v in and only 0.08v out so it wont start.
The pots are set to 3AO but i suspect this is wrong.
it wont run at all if i set the software to "MZ HW1" or "MZ HW2" but will run (just) on "MZ HW3" and MZ HW 4" but the voltage are also wrong at 1.08 in and 1.75 out.

Can anyone please confirm the correct pot settings for a '94 NA8 (JDM spec)

Also i connected the 1 Kilo ohm resistor as per the manual for the NB Hotwires, is this correct for the NA hotwires too?

also there may be a difference in where the rpm wire is??? can anyone confirm which pin number is the rpm wire?
The plugs for this car are exactly the same as my 1600 and the wire colours are the same too. it just has two extra wires for the sequential injectors.

Your car is B6 or BP?
You have afm or maf?

according the manual it cannot be used with 94-97 miata.

My miata is 94-97 but is B6 with afm, and I made some changes to the harness and works perfect.
For rpm signal, you have to take from the diagnostic, because if you take from ignition it will read tha half.

About the ports, fix the jumper settings according the manual, and I would try the settings you have, 3A0 and MZ_HW-1. But you told that is not working. Try it with 3AC and see whats happening.

And something else.

How did you put it?
If you put it like the 90-93 installation it is wrong.

The 94-97 ecu has many changes at the harness.
The bigger differences for the EM installation is the injectors signals. The 94-97 has sequential injection (4 wires). The 90-93 has batch, 2 wires. And there are many other diferrences at the installing.

Inform me what you have do

Put what?? the pot settings or the resistor? are you saying that the resistor isnt needed on the '94?

like i said i traced the wires on the plugs and they ARE THE SAME except for the two extra injector wires .
the ignition, afm, power and injector wires are all in the same place.

the emanage is seeing the rpm but i cant see the rpm on the map trace and im not seeing any injector milliseconds in the datalog either.

Come on people>

SOMEONE must have put an emanage into an 94 OBD1 1800!

Any info or tips on this model would be nice.

DOES IT REQUIRE THE RESISTOR?

Hey Bro,

It's been a little while,

i don't believe it requires the resistor.

Also, the maf signal is inverted if i remember correctly.

Regards

UPDATE!

ok so the issue was the resistor that i put in the same as the NB cars stopping everything from working even though it showed no error codes!

So I can now say that the wiring for a (JDM spec) 1800 NA obd1 car is THE SAME as the 1600 NA except for the extra injector wires in "2Y" and "2Z" on the ecu plug to run the injection sequentially.all the other wires are in the same place as the 1600 for all major engine functions.

the pot settings were 3AO.
The 1K resistor IS NOT required

hopefully this helps others trying to sort out thier pre-95 1800's

this means that with only minor mods you could convert your flapper door 1600 to run with the 1800 ecu, maf and sequential injection!(runs off to find a maf and 1800 ecu)

Congrats for the install!

The ECU's wiring are not the same, the basic differences are the injectors but as you see here there are more and more differences.

like i said...they are the same for all major engine functions. AFM/Maf voltage tps and ignition and o2 sensor , are the same on the car i wired. if they were different the car would not run as it does now.

Of course, this cannot work.

Why wouldnt it work. with those tables you linked to above.(thanks only 10 days late.... would have been nice on your first reply )

the plugs are the same and there are only a few wires to move around for ancillary devices. pretty staright forward swap and certainly no harder than wiring in a megasquirt.
