Default emu weird troubleshooting

I am not sure where to start - I have had the EMU running for quite a while... and all of a sudden the car died during a drive and I can turn the engine but no spark or start.. its got 550s so I cant use the regular ecu to test anything else..

my laptop detects a new EMU (brand new) but no lights ever come on and it never comes online so im assuming its not getting power but - what lines need to be connected so you can at least connect to upload the map on an EMU?

if i can at least start by troubleshooting that basic step - it might kick me off in the right direction to be able to drive the car again!!!

Thanks again!

(as a random test - i did try going back to the EMU thinking the car might TRY to start and just kick on flood and die.. but it didnt even give a fuel smell that i thought might happen... )

i fried 2 EMU's in about 2 years. had a problem on one where the ignition output on it died and no spark at all just fuel. i would contact Greddy and ask for replacement if it is new. call 9495888300 ask for Brian D very helpful guy. he will try to diagnose and than give u a return number for your unit. best way to go if under 1 yr old. good luck.

i was in the same boat but yes on the middle connector there are ground and power. do u have home made harness or bought. i'd test all the wires. there is possibility of emu being bad. The guy at greddy will help you. test power and ground by tracing to source and go from here on.

technically you should be able to connect and get the lights to light up with power and ground. i have a bloomslang also, i'd check on the big connector if there are any terminals touching. good luck

wow so elementary.. im fairly annoyed with myself.. on the main harness i believe (to the ecu - ie original factory harness) white/red is the power right? from ignition? yep.. not getting power... i checked the fuses... so must be a break somewhere i guess in the line .. maybe i can run a new one.. any idea where it runs to??? i assume the fuse box... but it would help to have a general guess where to trace this puppy - ive reconnected and tested all the other wires and so far so good

Turns out the issue was the main relay- it wasnt closing all the way so it wasnt getting enough power through the car

took the cap off - push the switch all the way in .. bam car comes on.

i used : http://neomiata.com/garage/1994_Miat...20Diagrams.pdf

to trace all of the wires and the relay function.
