Default not sure

hi i have been looking and reading about the AEM fuel ignition controller and it fits every thing i need to run my car and get rid of this shitty link piggy back. the only problem i am having is that i have 9.0:1 comp and the stock ecu is 9.5:1 comp and the AEM FIC only lets you retard ignition. Will this kill power from me having low comp and not being able to add timing when out of boost or will it be fine?????????

You are aware that you can statically advance your timing by rotating the CAS, right? Consider that if you set your static idle timing to 15° BTDC, and then used the AEM to retard it by 5°, then you're back to the stock timing map. Any place you want to dial in some advance, just eliminate the AEM's retard.

That having been said, built a Megasquirt. Less $$$, more .
