you need to reexamine your incentives.

my time/boost is worth more than the reward of reinventing the wheel to maybe save a dollar.

I'm kinda crazy that way. I now have an Arduino board on order to solve a simple problem that I don't really have in an overly complex manner. But it will be cool.

You can pick up a WRX ECU for less than $150 on Ebay.
Its designed to support a turbo.
You can access and modify all the ECU maps using Romraider.
You can read and flash the ECU as many times as you like with Ecuflash.
Romraider and Ecuflash are free open source applications and the the only cost is for the Tactrix USB OBDII connector.
Lots of free logging and diagnostic software available.

I was thinking of purchasing a 1999 Miata being sold locally and had an extra WRX ECU and TD04 turbo.

I was looking over the ECU PINOUTs and the only issues I could see were:
Generator needs to be swapped with an internally controlled alternator.
EGR controls need to be worked out or removed.
VICS switch point needs to be triggered somehow (possibly by WRX tumble valve switch)
Ignition coils will need to be converted to 4 coil arrangement.

To make map modifications/cal and tuning life easy I'll likely use a WRX MAF and 440cc fuel injectors.

Seems like it should work but wasn't sure if anyone tackled this in the past.
Am I missing something that needs to be considered?
You know, when I saw this I was gonna post this

But then you guys actually gave into this BS thread and i was like

I emailed the flip flop scheme to a guy with an Autronic. Might be the same guy.

Mr. Pizzuto? Do you have a bot that searches the web for mentions of your product?

You and Mike from RRE helped me sort out the unlabled wiring harness and custom boards going to the Safeguard on the DSM when I was installing the ex-Pikes Peak/TAD SMC back in 2006. The adapter was built by a guy named Fred Miranda in the mid-late 90's. I was told he worked with you and it was "The first Subaru J&S unit made to work with twin coils." He was no longer around, and RRE just sent me a big box of parts and wires with a few red herrings to sort through.

You also reprogrammed a newer Honda UltraSafeguard for me so that I could inhibit it with an output from the ECU. I plan to keep coming back to your products, Thanks!

I am a bot.

Fred Miranda, that was the guy. Couldn't remember his name.

when i was troubleshooting an intermittent problem, a buddy let me borrow his cas from his dsm. as a matter of fact, when i removed mine, the lid had a mitsu. emblem on it. orig. owner might have swapped it out.

also, when doing a 2nd gen. motor into a 1st gen swap on a dsm, we just ran a shielded wire from the cam angle sensor to the crank angle sensor. the computer doesn't know any better and runs fine. also had to change the firing order on that car, again, ran perfect. swapped out a few sensors that changed between the 1991 motor and 1999 car. sounds like the same amount of work as the op is looking at.

Again, the Mitsubishi 4G63 shares the same CAS pattern as the 90-97 miata...
