Default Bosch vTPS on 1.6 OEM ECU

I have a 95 1.8 swapped in my 90 chassis using all of the 1.6 wiring/1.6 oem ECU. The 1.6 TB has been installed on the 1.8 intake mani via the FM spacer. Edit: Adding that plugs/wires are brand new.

So, I am actively working on supercharging the car with a MSPNP 1.3. Earlier on I noticed that my 1.6 TPS had failed, so in lieu of replacing it, I went with the route of retrofitting the Bosch vTPS (same part number as listed in these instructions): My Turbo Miata Photo Journal - Variable TPS/VTPS11

After installing, the car bogs really badly when I give it throttle. While driving, it cuts out intermittently and still bogs when I give it immediate throttle. So I pulled over, unplugged vTPS, and the car runs like it did pre-vTPS: bogs with immediate throttle at idle and during revmatching, but drives just fine.

I'm assuming the 1.6 manual ECU is not equipped to read the Bosch signals and I should leave it unplugged until I have a chance to install and tune my Megasquirt. Is my assumption correct, or am I missing something here?

Thanks all.

TDLR: Car bogged with immediate throttle/full throttle, but drove just fine. Replaced faulty 1.6 manual TPS with BMW vTPS on OEM ECU. Car now bogs badly and doesn't drive well (bucking, etc.). Unplugged vTPS, car runs fine. I'm assuming the vTPS is a Megasquirt-only mod and I should leave it unplugged until I install/tune my Megasquirt - correct?

Did some more searching and came across a post the Keith from FM posted on m.net:

Neither the stock ECU nor the 1.6 Link will understand the signal from a variable TPS.

Ryan, there's no reason the 1.6 Link should have a lurching problem - you should be able to solve that with some tuning. We're willing to help of course.

I am assuming then that my assumptions are correct in the OP and that I need to leave the vTPS unplugged until I get the MSPNP 1.3 tuned.

Correct, the stock ECU can't handle a vTPS.

Yup all correct. My MS3x wigges out if I have my stock 1.6 throttle possition switch plugged in. For those who come across this in the future.
