Default High idle after vTPS install

After installing my vTPS my idle has increased and remains high after I touch the throttle. The car starts fine and idles fine at start up, around 800-900 rpms, once I tap the throttle the idle will not settle below the 1100-1200 range.

Another issue I am is driving above 5k rpm, it would cut and stumble when I hit 5k rpm during my drive today as well (second log 2012-8-19(drive))

Check the tps activation number and rpmdot hangup value.

It looks like you're using Enhanced Accel Enrichment. Have you tuned this for the new TPS? It's set to cutoff at 5k. Maybe just a coincidence, but try turning off the EAE for now and go back to the Acceleration Wizard settings.
Your wizard setting for TPSdot is pretty low at 20 as well. Mine's set to 40 for reference.

For your idle issue, your Derivative Gain is 100%, which is supposed to completely dampen Proportional Gain and Integral Gain in your PID idle settings. Try dropping DG to like 0-2% and see if that gives control back to the ECU for idling.

adjusted my derivative gain down to 1.5%, now I have a surging idle but its only an issue still after I hit the throttle. It will idle up to 1900 rpm, the fuel will cut because my wideband pins at 22.4 and the rpms drop to 1400 and then climb back to 1900 and it just keeps repeating that cycle. I did not get a chance to log it this morning on my way to work because my laptop was dead. I will post one today after work

Have not had a chance to adjust anything with the Enhanced Accel Enrichment yet

The 5k cut off is sorted, turned off the Enhanced Accleration Enrichment and went back to the Acceleration Wizard

The idle is still causing me issues, a few observations I have made so far:
1) Cold idle is normal, will idle a little high (1300) but settles down to 900 and does not surge
2) Hot idle is where the high idle is happening (1900) and the surging and fuel cut
3) I can get the car to idle normally when hot by lugging the motor down to 1000 rpm before switching into neutrul or depressing the clutch when coming to a stop. When I do this the idle will be fine, no surging and stays very steading around 850-900 rpm. Its almost like I have to manually force the car to idle by almost stalling out before a stop, if I go into neutral or depress the clutch before 1000 rpm it will shot back up to 1900 and continue the surging parttern (1900 rpm, seems like fuel cuts and rpm drops to 1400 then raises back up and continues that cycle)

tplociniak: Read this about 3-5x, then go apply it: 2 Idle Control

read through that idle control a few times, had a chance to play around with the settings tonight. The car is idling really well right now, headlights on and off, fans on and off with headlights on and off; so it seems like I am on the right track. Question is could my adjustments in the idle control have a negative effect during driving conditions? I just don't want to be adjusting this setting with my head buried in the sand to other items I may be affecting. Took it for a few drives around town and it feels good so far

new issue now, consistently losing sync just a bit between 5000 and 6000 rpm, after looking at the log of this it gives me lost sync reason 38 which is 4G63, what could be the cause of this?

you only use the 10% of idle valve range?

min duty of 19.9% and a max of 30.9%

Lost sync might mean we need to adjust the pots on the inside the MS.

those were the settings that gave me the smoothest most stable idle, is that a problem?

I have my wedding in 10 days so I wont be able to open up the box and mess with anything until after the honeymoon, could you give me a general idea what I would be doing with this or should I run some more logs before this?

Composite log the event and we can see which pot needs turning. Not a datalog.

I think you'll have issues in cold wether when u need to open idle valve more. I can't see u getting above 1000rpm with those settings. I can get my valve to achieve a 2500rpm idle if I want.

posted a data log and the composite log file for the 5000 rpm issue, when I get above 5000 it cuts and bounces around in a very odd way. My megalog viewer will not open, deleted and tried reinstalling so I can not view the file to see what it shows. I hope this helps, would really like to be able to drive above 5000 rpm again.

The 9.36.10 file was the one that was taken during the composite log.

post a screen shot of the composite log where the dropouts occurs. I can see you have a lost sync around that area of 38, which is the cam/crank triggers.

depending on the green or blue line and which dropped out, you can adjust the trim pots inside the MS to fix the issue. seems like one is out of adjustment.

I should see a noticeable flat line where that occurs correct? When looking at the composite log it seems consistent the entire time. The attached screen shot is from one of the 11 sections which all look the same to me

there will be a spike in red.

that last log you uploaded: 2012-09-12_09.29.17.msl, shows a lost sync event when youre at WOT around 5K.

I do not have a composite log for the 9.29.17 file, only the 9.36.10, which the same issue occurred during

I will go back out and do a few more runs

I can not get Megalog viewer to open at all, anyone else having these issues? I noticed the software version number has already changed 3 times today on their website, anyone have any tips on how to get this to open?
