Can anyone provide the CALID and CVN for a 99-00 ECU?
Just as the title states. I am helping a friend with a side project of his and we are wondering if anyone can confirm what the CALID and CVN is for the 1999-2000 Miata ECU.

He's looking for data pertaining to the Calibration ID (essentially the software version) and CVN (software certificate #) for a stock ECU.
You can get these by plugging a mode 9 scan tool into the ECU. But since those of us who are really involved in ECU-related work with the Miata tend not to use stock ECUs, it is unfortunately probable that nobody around here cares.
Moreover, since it sounds like the "side project" his friend is working on is an OBD-II spoofer (which would be illegal in the US), it's unlikely that any of the people who do know and care are going to chime in and help him.

Nothing to do with spoofing OBD-II. He is testing an ecu flash that would allow fuel and timing to be changed, but keep all of the OBD-II functions in place and keep them fully operational. Notice I said confirm the values, i.e. wanted to make sure there are no variance amoung the 99 and 00 ECU's.
