1997 ECU Differences?

Default 1997 ECU Differences?

After spend the past week going over my Emanage blue wiring and ensuring that the boomslang harness I have made is correct and that the ECU pinout diagrams I have been using are also correct. I am begining to wonder if there were any changes made to the ECU when they swapped over to become OBII compliant?

I am damn sure that the wiring I have done is correct, however when I cut the ignition wires in the factory harness and connect up the wire from the emanage, I cant get a spark at the plugs. I can load maps and make changes on the emanage.

Did any of the later MK1's (NA's) have any sort of imobiliser built into it, that would prevent the engine starting if wires were bypassed? Before anyone mentions changing jumper 1 & 2 settings, I have tried every combination, and it makes no difference.

I have trawled the net looking for answers, but nobody else seems to have had the same problem I have had when it comes to fitting the Emanage blue.
