Adaptronic vs Hydra vs Megasquirt
Ok so I put together a comparison of ECUs, but this should not be taken as correct. What I wanted to do was for other people to post up corrections to this. On the megasquirt, I just wasn't sure what was avialable. On the hydra, I looked at, and played with the 2.6 software, but I haven't actually used it.
Just upload your copies. Try to highlight your ECU's special abilities, but exclude stuff that isn't useful. Like I know the hydra can run 8 injectors in sequential, but we have four bangers... so its not an important feature to this crowd.

The 96-97 have a different pinout. They just haven't sat down and made the necessary loom for that yet. I might see if Rob will make it if I do the leg work. I know sixshooter has been wanting one.
I'd like to add AEM, but I'd really be guessing as to its capability. Maybe we can get someone who uses it to chime in and add it to the list.

I updated things and popped them into their respective spots. I added a datalog section which I didn't know what the other standalones had to offer in that respect. I also added the non-PNP adaptronic for cost reference.
For visaul clarity I changed to table format with frozen top rows.
It seems like the hydra instead of using closed loop parts just used a ton of maps to define everything. I bet that thing is a pain in the neck to tune!

lets seee.... hydra updates:
hydra does have variable load and rpm breakpoints. or did?
not sure what "completely configurable autotune" means.
hydra boost control is closed loop PID.
isn't VVT closed loop absolutely required for the VVT to even function? it's a feedback system. adjust until you get the cam angle you want. so in that regard, hydra is closed loop.
datalog size in the old hydra is limited to a LOT of data points. not sure about new version. in 2.6, you can pick and choose up to a fixed number of variables. it's configurable. note though that the resolution is very course in some variables. like fuel only goes down to .3 ms increments. wat.

Updated comparison attached with y8s information inside. I also added a minimum injector and ignition increment.

Travis, that spreadsheet is a thing of beauty, and was far more than I'd hoped when I suggested it in the Adap thread.
It would be truly awesome if somebody took the time to also add the LINK to the spreadsheet, and maybe the EMU as the 2 other major full-function ECU's that are commonly used. Somebody smart on the Electromotive or Haltec units might work up a list of specs if motivated.
Additionally, I see a need for the less capable piggybacks to be compared as well. Voodoo, EM, EMB, Zoom3, Powercard, and the 1/2 dozen other units that pop up. There are a couple 5th injector drivers that might be worth throwing in the mix. I'm sorry I don't have the requisite background to take on the project... but you can make as many TABS in an XCEL spreadsheet as you like. Perhaps PAGE1=Standalones, PAGE2=Piggys, PAGE3=WEAKSAUCE?

Thanks Sam! I agree that we need more experts to step up and get the sheet dialed in for more ECUs. Just letme know when your ready to step up to the Adaptronic!
