Default What is this problem?

I'm having a dumb argument. I'm trying to help someone who insists that these spikes just after the cursor are lean-ness, I say it's most likely a spark problem and he needs to change plugs.

If it were a leanness issue, it wouldn't be spiked to full lean and full rich like that.

Boom, headshot. I have better things to do than drive accross town to watch someone pay $100/hour to strap a car on the dyno so they can work on it with wrenches rather than computers. lol

The lean spikes are misfires. Seeing that is misses under light load leads me to believe that something in the ignition system needs to be replaced.

That's exactly what mine looked like when I was getting spark blowout after turning up the boost.

Smaller gap (down to 0.020-0.024) didn't help, so I went to COPS.

LOL WTF.

I could only imagine what the fuel map would look like in 3D if it were truly lean-ness like that. It'd be like the Alps in EMS Topographical form.

It'd just have to be far enough out it didn't combust...but yeah it'd be jagged.

WTF is going on with this car? Why is it rich on short overrun bursts (shifting) and stoich on extended overrun?

I looked at the log and its almost like enrichments and overrun are doing the opposite of what they're supposed to do. Is this a supercharger thing? Do you have any tips on dealing with supercharger throttle-response delay? (Holy ****, did I just type "throttle-response?)

where's the TP log? are there even tps enrichments turned on? if so they aren't tuned...

I do not have the tuned file right now so I'm not sure. I could probably figure this out on the dyno, but I'd love to learn it right now and save myself some time.

Look at "triim" and "TP%" on the log file I sent. After further review, it looks like enrichments are turned-off, but they're not. I guess I'll add some PW in there when I get the log file. This is a $700 tune, btw. lol

this is ms3 then correct?

I'd need to see the msq, I'm just looking at the csv file in excel...but it looks like there's pulse witdh increase with throttle. could be a few things, but im sticking with untuned enrichments...is EAE on?

Adaptronic. I wish it were MS3 so I'd be more comfy with the GUI. Its funny, when I ask a couple Adaptronic guys questions they tend to respond with "Adaptronic is better than MS) rather than answer the question, lol. However, it's not that bad. The GUI is really terrbile though.

My only reply is there was no ms3 2 years ago and Adaptronic gui does blow. Don't remember the programming langue used but it's almost 20 years old.

We added some more time to the enrichments (3000ms) and it's doing better, but something is really screwy with this software. Its different every day on the fuel tables, I suppose it needs IAT calibration.

The guy that tuned this before spent no time at all on the cruise or part throttle settings so that's what I have Jeff working on today. I'm really, really spoiled on Tuner Studio, it makes life worth living...actually it makes it so easy I don't know why anyone would go with anything else.

Bump up the 0% at 1k,2k,4k to the real number. Should be around 28-30 at idle, 32 at 2k and then down to 25 and then down to 18 for 6 and 8k.
