So if i want sequential injection on a VVT block, would the MS3 require me to use a 36-2 wheel?

Can you just take the mazda 36-1 wheel and cut a tooth off?

No, the OEM 4 tooth wheel works just fine, assuming you are also using the stock NB cam pattern.

Just checking to see if there's still momentum behind this support plan. Thanks!

We don't currently have an engine with the wheel installed. The test rig was John's car Mental, but we bent a rod when an old Ms3x box we had in it lost sync momentarily and backfired under boost. That box got modded by AbeFM and stuck into a race car. Mental got one of my spare MS3 Pro's but is waiting for the engine to come back from the shop. In due time gents.

Shoot, many moons ago I bought the SuperMiata Damper and the 36-1 trigger wheel assuming it would work with all MS variants. Subscribing to see if there is a solution before I try to swap the brand new 36-1 trigger wheel for a 4 tooth.

It supports batch fire injection and wasted spark ignition with all MS variants. What we're trying to add is sequential and VVT support.

Datalog delivered to DIY. Hopefully they can write something for us to unlock sequential goodness.

I too own a 36-1 wheel and don't want to have to mess with my cam gears. In for updates.

Yessssss! I assume this is the SM damper 36-1 as opposed to the OEM 36-1 in the thread title? (I assume it matters)

Is the missing tooth on the SM wheel not at the same place as the protege wheel? I mean, otherwise, 36-1 is 36-1.

The Protege wheel has the missing tooth roughly 90 degrees BTDC on the 2nd 180 degree period. For my car it seems to be 85 degrees for the trailing edge of the tooth.

I scanned both the OE and 36-1 trigger wheels and created an overlay using Photoshop.

I've attached my Adaptronic triggering configuration, this reads spot on with a timing light.

Does anyone have the tooth pattern for the stock car? With the 36-2?

Mainly I'm looking for the number of degrees apart on the cam teeth.

Thanks!

Anyone know the answer to this one? I am about to swap to MS3 and would like to start using the factory 36-1 input instead of just using the CAS for my MS2 sequential spark/injection.
