Andre? Yeah...

I've got a lot of work on the whole car to do to get it ready for the first race I'm doing on May Long...

So do I have the steps right? If the car was in my garage I would go try now, but it's occupied with my other car so I'll give er a go tommorow. I also have a serial to USB converter so that may be an issue.

The only issue with the USB to serial conv should be if it gets assigned to a high numbered port.

You can try what ever number it gets assigned to first. Go to the device manager and get the #. If it doesn't work, there is a way to change the number but I don't recall how to do it.

I can still build them. I think the only issue with the first one I built was that a wire came loose. The new one is done on a proper pcb , so no wires to come loose.

Sorry to thread jack but, anyone know where to buy another keypad? Or it may be repairable, mine has something loose inside or in the cable. It works for a minute then, you move it again and the screen goes blank. I opened the ecu and visually checked the cable and it all seems fine.

Buy one of turboroach's serial links (if u don't have one), pick up a palm m500, add a port to the serial link and install Plink.

I need one of those badly - do you take Paypal? What is your turnaround time to build one?

PM me your paypal, or post on the forums and you'll have money! Thanks bud!!
You might want to hit up Keith at Flyin Miata because he gets lots of requests for these as well and LINK still offers em, but at $105 plus freight from New Zealand

and can you do as linked above, adding the hotsync cable?

and m2cupcar does that allow tuning with the palm? Or is the keypad still needed?

Yes- it does: data logging, tuning/saving and some real time display. No keypad needed. The palm port mod is very simple.

i've got a keypad, but figured if i'm using the palm for datalogging, to be able to tune with it as well would be nice

Thanks!

x2.

When I visited Flyin' Miata back in July shortly after buying my Miata, I had asked Brandon about it and was told that Flyin' Miata couldn't get them anymore since they were no longer available - my best bet would be to try to locate a used one on one of the Miata forums. They'd probably be happy to know of somewhere to refer people that need one.

You should have the keypad checked. Sometimes the connector's solder joints will break. Or it might be the cable itself is bad. I think I went through 3 cables while I had a link.
