steering angle
anyone know an easy diy to datalog steering angle
hardware wise

I was pondering this as well. I have a string pot that I bought for another project, one thought I had was to connect it on eithe of the tie rods. Needs a good mounting point obviously and should be IP67.

I have used a linear pot. Attach one end to the body of the rack and the other near the inner tie rod joint. A string pot can be used as well. It can be attached to the steering shaft so that it wraps around the shaft as the wheel is turned. A Rotary pot can also be used by utilizing a pulley and small belt.
