Does performance "lag" relative to what happened earlier?
Kinda hard to think of a descriptive title.
I've been playing with AFR in the midrange and noticed that when I leaned the afr a bit, I saw an increase in performance after the change.
I was wondering, how much of performance at a given rpm is related to what happened before? (say 100, 200, 500 rpm earlier in the map?)
For instance, does being slightly rich at 4K rpm influence the power at 4.5K? I know that in each cycle excess fuel is expelled, so it "shouldn't" influence what happens later, IOW, a rich condition can (should?) correct itself very quickly once that cell is left behind.
Also, same question for ign advance.

Perhaps a related question... I was doing some mid range pulls and wasn't going to redline.
I noticed in the logs that after I let off WOT around 5K, the engine keeps increasing in speed for another 80 rpms. Don't feel this lag during driving, only noticed it when looking at log.
Is that normal or is it an indication that when lifting, the engine goes a bit leaner and picks up? Or is it because of lag in MAP?
